Why I Talk With My Clients Before Writing Their Web Copy

Before I begin writing, I always ask my clients to fill out a detailed questionnaire and, whenever possible, conduct an in-depth interview. 

You might be wondering: “It’s just copy. Why does it take so much time and effort? Simple: I want to ensure that the content I create truly reflects your brand, speaks to your ideal audience, and helps you bring in more readers and leads.

Understanding Your Unique Voice and Brand

Every solopreneur’s business is unique, and your website copy needs to capture that individuality. But it also needs to align with your audience. If your potential clients like purple language and words like “empower” and “manifest”, maybe your dry humor and short,bare sentences won’t make them send you an enquiry. 

Through questionnaires and interviews, I learn about the essence of your business—the values you hold, the tone you want to project, and the personality you want your brand to convey. 

This makes it a lot easier for me to write copy that isn’t generic but an authentic reflection of your brand’s voice.
